The Town is recruiting for a Laborer position which performs the physical/unskilled duties of the construction trades. This is hard physical work that requires endurance and a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting skilled workers in performing a variety of tasks such as road construction and maintenance, building construction and maintenance, landscaping, buildings and grounds maintenance, cleaning of fleet vehicles, painting, and any other cleaning or minor repair work required. A Laborer who has obtained the appropriate license or learner’s permit may be assigned to operate heavy trucks or heavy equipment on a trainee basis.  Starting wage is increased if applicant has a CDL.

This position will be responsible for answering the main phone line and providing exceptional customer service.  The incumbent will aid the Finance Manager and other department staff on financial record keeping and assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, water billing, maintaining customer files, process mail, and assist with various other administrative projects.  Employee will learn water billing system, and assist with customer water consumption variance communications.

This is a full-time position in the Town of Lansing Highway Department.

When summer camp is in session from 7/7/25 - 8/15/25, the position is full time.  Part time hours may be required as needed for camp planning and training prior to the start of camp.

The Town of Ulysses is hiring for summer camp positions.  Camp runs from June 30, 2025, to August 8, 2025.  Mandatory training for staff will take place in late May and mid-June.

The position will primarily provide important, free and direct positive youth development programming to 5th-8th graders after school and during the summer. Positive youth development focuses on providing an inclusive, supportive environment for youth. Programmatic priorities and specific activities will be developed in cooperation with youth, the Youth Commission, and Town staff. Administrative assistance will be provided to this position, allowing the employee to primarily focus on direct service provision. Primary service hours are between 2:30-5pm, with flexibility on total number of weekly hours. Experience working with and engaging youth is strongly preferred and additional training and support will be provided. Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

The Deputy Village Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting the Village Clerk by assisting with a variety of administrative duties and responsibilities. This position is appointed by the Village Mayor and approved by the Village Board, who also define the powers and duties of the role. As the front-facing employee, the Deputy Village Clerk handles the counter, processes transactions, and assists with billing, ensuring smooth and efficient service to Village residents. While working under the general supervision of the Village Clerk, the Deputy Village Clerk exercises independent judgment in carrying out tasks.
