The position's duties will include inspecting apartments prior to clients moving in (to document conditions as part of a program which makes it unnecessary to pay security deposits up front, or for pre-existing conditions once the rental ends.) The appointee will assist with re-housing individuals coming out of jail or prison and individuals and families who are hoarding and are facing eviction. Housing assistance includes help with finding furniture and household supplies for newly-forming households and working with landlords to help avoid evictions. Tompkins County Highway deaprtment anticipates the need for multiple Seasonal Workers. These are full-time temporary positions with a maximum 180 day appointments with a four 10-hour days per week, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., typically Monday-Thursday.
